I'm claiming July as my taking public transporation to work for an entire month. I've actually begun taking the bus as my main form of transportation to work. I only drive if I need to be somewhere immediately after work. I'm really enjoying the bus and getting so much knitting in!

82. Do STP Run the Vancouver Half Marathon

I ran the Vancouver Half Marathon and it was great! I finished in 3 hours and 2 minutes and 56 seconds. My goal was 3 hours but heck I'll take those extra 3 minutes and be proud of what I did today.

Scott got up at O'Dark Thirty with me and sent me off at the starting line. The sun was shining and the day was just beautiful.

Julie ran the entire way with me which you know really makes the race just that much better.

Julie and I stuck to our 5 minute runs and our 1 minute walks all the way until Stanley Park. The crowd was super supportive and cheered all of us on. They printed our first names on our bibs and I do admit to being confused when people I didn't know would yell my name and cheer me on. It took oh about 6 miles to figure out that my name was on my bib! Duh!

Stanley Park was beautiful and we walked up "the hill" where you gain 200 feet in elevation in just under one mile. We picked up our 5 and 1's once we were done with the hill and ran, ran, ran our way in. The last mile may have been the LONGEST mile known to man but I am so happy with my time and so happy to be done training for a bit!

OK, OK, I know I'll be back out there running again soon but I'm going to relax this week and not worry about training!

36. Clean out my closet

I feel a bit like I'm cheating on this one but I have cleaned out my closet since I'm moving. The new closet is being carefully sorted and assembled to prevent the pile-up of the last closet. I look forward to being able to reach into my new closet without having things fall on me.

31. Floss every day for a month

One of my goals for my 101 in 1001 is to floss my teeth everyday for a month in a futile attempt to make me floss more often. I started flossing everyday on January 20th and now on February 20th, I hve flossed officially for 30 days. I may even keep this up!

41. Start recycling my food scraps with either a compost pile or in yard rubbish recycle bin.

Scott's place offers Yard Waste Recycling which includes food scraps and since I'm spending most of my time there, I've set up a little composting bin which I'll empty weekly into the Yard Waste Recycling bin. Easy Peasy!

40. Recycle my old cell phone

I've been meaning to recycle my old cell phones for quite some time. I finally found a place to mail them off to where they can either be re-used or the parts recycled. My co-worker also gave me her old cell phones for recycling and I'm mailing them all off today.

43. Take a photo a day in 2007

In 2007, I took a photo a day (OK, I did miss one day). It was a year of endings and beginnings. It was the year I lost my cat, Destiny but the year I found my Scott. It was also the year that I really grew in my photography which is why 2008 will be all about self photography or ME!

90. Make No-Knead Bread
This weekend I decided to make No-Knead Bread from the New York Times. I've been holding back for awhile since this bread takes quite a long time to make. Well there isn't a lot of actual making time but there is a lot of waiting time.

I wrapped the handle for my Le Creuset pot lid in foil because you bake the bread at 450 and the pan is only guaranteed up to 375. The buyer at work said not to worry but that wrapping it in foil might be a good safety precaution. Better safe than sorry!

This bread came out delicious! I was worried because the recipe called for Instant Yeast and for some reason I bought (non-instant) Active Yeast. This just meant that instead of 18 hours of sitting, my bread needed to sit for about 28 hours.

I wanted to eat the whole loaf! I'll make this again but ummm with the right yeast this time.

Well I had to register RebeccaLBurgess.com but I did it! It's a bit lame right now but that's another step down the road.

Playing Catch-Up

Whew! I haven't updated my 101 in 1001 list in a very long time.
38. Get Destiny's teeth cleaned -- Technically I haven't done this one but since Destiny died on July 27th, I won't be able to get her teeth cleaned so I consider this one complete.
64. Buy a lensbaby lens -- I purchased an Original Lensbaby Nikon F Mount SLR Camera Lens and have really been enjoying the photos I've taken with it.

67. Buy a fisheye lens -- I'm changing this one to buy an 18 – 55 mm Nikon lens which I've done and I am really enjoying this lens so far.

71. Buy a new cell phone -- I purchased a new Samsung phone in May. It was so time.

83. Lose 10 pounds -- I've lost 10.8 lbs through Weight Watchers this year.

94. Have a professional facial -- I went to Spa Noir last Friday and had a delightful facial. I do enjoy facials.

So to recap, I have accomplished the following items off my list, which means that I am now 22% complete.
